Homeowner wanted to remove overgrown cedar tree
blocking view of front door and wanted to add
colorful plants that deer wouldn’t eat.
(Everything they’d ever planted was eaten by a
large permanent deer population- their kindly 80
yr old neighbor feeds next them door-very bad
idea).
Design Solution:
1.
Water guzzling, cedar was removed,
opening up the view of front door
2.
Multi level raised planters, matching
the existing brick on the house, were
built. Good soil was brought put in them
to encourage rapid plant growth.
3.
3 inches of mulch reduced weeding.
4.
Plants were specifically chosen for deer
resistance with interesting foliage
texture or seasonal flower color.
