To add a compact water feature to a 4’ x 6’
corner of a small (20’ x 20’) entry courtyard
visible from office and living room windows, as
well as outside as you approach the front door.
Design Solution:
1.
Created a bubbly, disappearing fountain
using granite moss covered boulders with
contrasting turquoise pebbles accents.
Two boulders were drilled and piped for
water, which trickles down their
vertical face, lands in a hidden rubber
lined box below the surface of the soil
and is recalculated by a submersible
pump.
2.
To add more “pop”, mortared rainbow
patio rock was used as edging around the
perimeter of the lawn to make mowing
fast and easy.
3.
Brightly colored, high contrast
materials were chosen to satisfy this
particular homeowner’s need to be
surrounded by bold color!
