Homeowner wanted a low maintenance, yet colorful garden to view from existing covered patio

Design Solution:

1.	installed a mixture of easy care flowering perennials that die back in winter but return again each spring
2.	added evergreen shrubs that look good year round to soften the stark concrete foundation and bare wood fence
3.	Chose flowers that attract hummingbirds
4.	Lowered maintenance by adding three inches of mulch keep weeds down
